But Microsoft’s Fabric Apps (preview) open a different door: custom application UX on the same semantic model, without forcing every decision into a report canvas.
We did not stop at a hello-world sample. Why this matters now
Fabric Apps are early. Most teams are still evaluating templates or light demos. The hard part is not scaffolding an app — it is wiring real DAX to a production-shaped model, controlling density inside a full-viewport host, and composing multi-domain operator views that report chrome was never meant to carry.
